Horse Whorls & Brain Development
Hi Everyone. I would like to hear what you think about whorls and brain development in horses and if it applies to your horse or not. I have only recently discovered this interesting topic. They say that horses with high facial whorls are more spooky and fearful than horses with low facial whorls. My mare has a middle to high level facial whorl, and she is not very spooky. Could also be because I have been spending a lot of time desensitizing her. She also learns very quickly. They say with early training in a gentle way you can "mask" it if you have a foal that is spooked easily. There are also theories about whorls on the body and where they are situated and if they are balanced or not. My mare has a lot of whirls on her body(15). They are all balanced or in the center like the ones on her chest and windpipe.
Here is a good article about whorls. It has a lot of disctiptions and a lot of meanings added to the whorls both modern and past beliefs of certain whorls

Here is a facial chart of whorl positions and the site I got it from. You can read more there if you want to.
